Counselling

Libby Hudson

ACA Registered Counsellor

Libby is one of those counsellors who instantly makes you feel at ease. With over 17 years of experience supporting individuals and families, she brings a rare mix of professional skill, genuine warmth, and lived understanding to every session. Her background in special education, mental health, wellbeing, and family therapy shapes the calm, grounded way she helps people navigate life’s challenges with confidence and connection.

Libby is known for her calm, strength-based style and her ability to create a space where people of all ages feel comfortable being themselves. Whether someone is working through big feelings, tricky transitions, family changes, or everyday overwhelm, she meets them where they’re at with patience, insight, and genuine care. She knows how to create a space that feels safe and judgement-free.

As a mum of three (including one child with autism), Libby brings firsthand insight into the world of neurodiversity and the realities families navigate every day. She understands the highs, the hard days, the adjustments, the advocacy, and the deep love that sits underneath it all. This lived experience enriches the way she supports children with additional needs and strengthens her ability to walk alongside parents through their own challenges, questions, and hopes for their kids.

Married for over 20 years, Libby pairs her professional training with genuine lived experience. She gets the juggle. She gets the chaos. She gets the heart of family life. And she brings that grounded, real-world insight into every session.

Warm, wise, and wonderfully relatable... that’s Libby.
And we’re incredibly grateful to have her supporting Huon Valley families here at Beanies.

We recognize their continuing connection to land, water, and community, and pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge the deep cultural significance of these lands for the Aboriginal community here in Tasmania.Through this acknowledgement, we express our gratitude for the opportunity to gather and share knowledge on this Country. We also commit to learning about the history, culture, and contributions of Tasmania's First Peoples and to fostering an environment of respect, unity, and recognition
